Feeding a baby White-capped Pionus requires special attention to ensure they receive the necessary nutrition for healthy growth and development. Here are some recommendations for feeding a baby White-capped Pionus:


  1. We will feed your new baby high-quality hand-feeding formula specifically designed for baby parrots. These formulas are nutritionally balanced and easily digestible for young birds. You will you will receive your feathered friend once they are successfully weaned.

  2. Fruits and Vegetables: As the baby matures, your pi will have been introduced to small, soft pieces of fruits and vegetables into their diet. Examples include mashed sweet potatoes, berries, broccoli, orange carrots, peppers, cooked chickpeas, and leafy greens. Avocados, onions, mushrooms and other fruits and vegetables can be harmful. It is always best to check to make sure produce is safe before your introduce new foods into your pi's diet.

  3. Pellets: Pellets designed for parrots once the baby is weaned and your new baby will have successfully eaten pellets when you receive them. We provide them with a blend of Harrisons and Top's pellets. These provide essential nutrients for their long-term health.

  4. Nutritious Treats: Provide occasional treats like nuts or seeds for variety, but ensure they are given in moderation to maintain a balanced diet and to reduce the risk of fatty liver disease.

  5. Fresh Water: Make sure your Pi has access to clean, fresh water at all times to stay hydrated.
